One of the best things about going to conventions is getting to see exclusive trailers and sneak previews before the public does. One big sneak peak trailer was shown at WonderCon by Guillermo del Toro when he unveiled 2 minutes of footage from his film, ‘Pacific Rim.’ Now, thanks to Legendary Pictures and del Toro, that same trailer is now online for all to enjoy.
Previous trailers and del Toro’s commentary of his first one has already generated a big buzz in the movie industry and critics are already expecting this to be a hit box office hit. In fact, del Toro is already developing the sequel to the film before this one is even out of post-production.
While most of the footage has been heavy on the action between the Kaiju and Jaegers, this trailer from WonderCon does go into a little history about the war with the aliens and why the Jaeger program was established.
Upon the trailer’s release, del Toro stated, “This was originally intended for only WonderCon, but after listening to so many of you asking for more of the movie online, I think it’s time for me to show you more footage. Enjoy, my friends!”
And enjoy we will! ‘Pacific Rim’ looks to be a monster of a film or as Charlie Day’s character states ‘2,500 tons of awesome!’
