‘Dark Skies’ is a film that seems to be part supernatural thriller and part sci-fi horror. In anticipation of the film’s debut, Dimension Films has released these 5 clips from the film.
The clips aren’t very long but they do provide some scary jumps one would expect from a film like this. While the clip of the birds crashing into the window was very Hitchcock-like and the one of the alien abduction investigator questioning the family about their experiences had me wishing Mulder and Scully would appear soon, the clips overall were entertaining enough.
The film is produced by Jason Blum, the same person who brought ‘Paranormal Activity’ and ‘Insidious’ to the big screen so you can assume ‘Dark Skies’ will bring much of the same.
‘Dark Skies’ stars Keri Russell (‘Felicity’, ‘The Americans’) and Josh Hamilton (‘Away We Go,’ ‘Outsourced’) as Lacey and Daniel Barret , a suburban couple who begin to notice strange occurrences happening and soon realize their son (Dakota Goyo) is being targeted by a deadly and terrifying supernatural force beyond their control. When things get too much, Lacey and Daniel decide to take matters into their own hands.
Whether the film will provide the same frightful success as Blum’s other films remains to be seen but we’ll soon find out when ‘Dark Skies’ premieres on February 22.
