Sonequa Martin-Green

Storybrooke will be gaining another resident this season as Sonequa Martin-Green has just been added to the cast of ‘Once Upon a Time.’

Martin-Green may seem very familiar with zombie loving fans as she was recently introduced last month in the mid-season finale of ‘The Walking Dead’ as Sasha, the sister of Tyreese. Her character is also said to figure prominently in the rest of the season so you’ll be seeing more of her when the series returns in March.

Martin-Green has also appeared on Lifetime’s ‘Army Wives’ as Kanessa and had a brief arc on the CBS series ‘The Good Wife’ playing Courtney, Patti Nyholm’s assistant that Alicia had lured away. Over the summer, she played the role of Michelle Terry on the summer series ‘NYC 22’.

As for which fairy tale character she’ll be playing (or if she’s playing a fairy tale character at all) is still a mystery. ABC is deciding to keep that a secret. All that has been revealed is that her name is Tamara, a person who has a British accent and is charming, artistic, friendly and secretly highly ambitious. She’s a fearless leader and goes for what she wants. The role will be a recurring one for the rest of Season 2 and may even spill into Season 3. While not much to go on, it will be interesting to see how she’ll fit in now that Cora and Hook are also on their way into town.

Whether the casting of Martin-Green is an indication that Sasha’s future on ‘The Walking Dead’ doesn’t bode well is unknown, but fans of the show already know that no one is safe from the zombie apocalypse. Guess we’ll have to wait and see, but it would be wise not to get too attached to the character, if you know what I mean.
