UPDATED: Micheal Bay promptly responded to these rumors about the alleged leaked script saying on his official site:

“Some Internet sites this morning reported that some document recovery guy has found a legitimate 120 page script of Transformers 4. I can absolutely 100 percent say this is completely false. The only two people in the world that have our unfinished script are Kruger and myself. Also we are only up to page 70 in our T4 script. Maybe this guy has a cartoon or something else – but definitely not our movie!”

Bay has denied rumors in the past which later is found out that they were true. A good example is the one that Mark Wahlberg would be starring in ‘Transformers 4’  which he first denied then stated that because of all the internet interest decided to offier him the role after all. He also, at one point, denied talking to Habro or Paramount about making ‘Transformers 4‘ after Hasbro had initally announced his involvment.

Is this another red herring? Read what the leaked script entails and let us know below!

We’ve known for some time now that a new Transformers film is on it’s way. Despite being generally terrible, they make butt loads of money, so naturally Michael Bay and company are going back to the well, albeit without original cast members like Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox (or her replacement Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). So far, we know that ‘Transformers 4’ will star Mark Wahlberg, will feature another young high school couple (one of which drives race cars), and will be released in 2014. But thanks to Unleash The Fanboy, you’re about to know more.

According to the site, they’ve acquired a copy of the latest draft of ‘Transformers 4’ and they reveal quite a bit about what happens, including who threatens the Earth this time around.

Before I continue, there are obviously spoilers to follow, so if you don’t want to know, you should probably stop here.

Now that you’ve been warned, you can learn what troubles the Autobots have on their hands four years after ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’. Longtime fans of the robots in disguise will recognize the villains in the fourth installment of Bay’s franchise from the 1986 animated Transformers feature. That’s right: Unicron will be the main villain of ‘Transformers 4’ alongside his acolyte, Galvatron. Unfortunately, Orson Welles cannot lend his voice and reprise his role as the planet-sized Decepticon, but maybe Leonard Nimoy can take up the mantle of Galvatron again.

Unicron

As the Galactus of the Transformers universe, the planet-devouring Unicron is a big enough threat on his own, but when Galvatron downloads the memories of the fallen Decepticons from the first three movies, he becomes possessed by Megatron to become yet another force to be reckoned with. Optimus Prime and his brethren will certainly have their hands full, but they’ll have some help.

On the side of good, recognizable names will be popping up to help out the Autobots like Vector Prime, Primus, Josie Beller aka the cyborg Circuit Breaker, and (this is the best one, in my opinion) the Dinobots, an Autobot faction that transforms into dinosaurs.

While this new film will feature a good amount of fan-favorite characters, the plot sounds like the same old terribly senseless storytelling. Decepticons threaten Earth and then fight with the Autobots for 90 minutes straight with no plot developments anywhere to be seen. I won’t get too much into detail, but basically after everything is established with why Unicron arrives and how the Autobots need Primus to stop the Decepticons, it’s Bay’s signature brand of giant robot fights. If you’re interested in all the details, you can check out Unleash the Fanboy, but after reading it, it sounds like a redo of ‘Dark of the Moon’ to me. Hopefully the third time will be a charm for ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ and ‘Dark of the Moon’ writer Ehren Kruger and he’ll add more of a story to give purpose to all the fighting and explosions.

What do you think about the new characters in ‘Transformers 4’? Could this new one be any worse than ‘Dark of the Moon’? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

‘Transformers 4’ is scheduled to begin production in the Spring of 2013 with a possible release date of June 27, 2014.
