The official trailer for ‘World War Z’ will drop on Thursday, but until then, ET has released a sneak preview of the footage which you can see here!
To say that the film overcame many obstacles to get made is an understatement. Seeing the footage below, it’s hard to believe that ‘World War Z’ underwent extensive reshoots and numerous rewrites (the original screenplay was scribed by J. Michael Straczynski (‘Thor’) and Matthew Michael Carnahan (‘State of Play’), but just this past summer, Paramount brought in Damon Lindelof (‘Prometheus’) and Drew Goddard (‘Cabin in the Woods) to rework it). In the end, it looks like the added time needed to complete the film may have been well worth it.
The book, ‘World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War’ by Max Brooks, centered on a UN researcher who chronicles his travels around the world to determine the cause of a zombie apocalypse. The movie version is not quite the same as, according to Paramount, “the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.”
The TV spot does indicate that this film will be HUGE with lots of action and an enormous amount of zombies!
See for yourself and make sure you check back here on Thursday for the full trailer!
