Last week, Ridley Scott fans were treated to a featurette called ‘Creations’ that explored the intricate sets and characters that inhabit the world of ‘Prometheus’. Today, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies (via CBM), we get yet another new featurette, this time called ‘Origins’. Here, we hear Scott, writer Damon Lindelof, and some of the cast discussing “the mission at the heart of the story”.

You can watch the featurette in it’s entirety below to discover more about what exactly the crew of Prometheus are venturing out into the deepest crevices of the universe to discover.

In addition to the new video with oodles of new footage, we also found some new promotional images for the film on CBM. The banner at the top of the page is the latest international poster for the film, and below, you can see the new cover of Entertainment Weekly that features Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Noomi Rapace in their spacesuits from the movie.

Here’s an official synopsis of ‘Prometheus’:

“In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system’s natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.”

Ridley Scott’s epic return to the genre that he helped define stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, and Logan Marshall-Green, and is set to be released on June 8th, 2012.
