Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

Netflix is getting set to unveil its frightening new drama ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘ and one of the show’s stars, Lucy Davis made an appearance on KTLA’s Morning News show to promote it.  Davis displayed her usual charm and even spent time discussing her role as Dawn on the original version of ‘The Office’, although she stressed that she was also a huge fan of the American adaptation.

She did state that although the Netflix show was based on the Archie Comics series ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, the show would not be quite as bleak.  And she brought a clip along with her that revealed that her character, Aunt Hilda Spellman, has both a light and a dark side.

You can see her entire interview below.  The preview of ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ appears around the 3:00 mark:

As was mentioned in the clip, Hilda Spellman was portrayed by Caroline Rhea and Davis made sure to tip her (pointed) hat to her.  And while ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ is a darker drama, it perhaps comes as no surprise that Davis will provide some much needed humor.

‘The Office’ was Davis’ big break.  (Her character, Dawn, was the inspiration for Jenna Fischer’s Pam in the American version.)  She may also be recognized for ‘Shaun of the Dead’.  She moved to Hollywood in 2004 and went on to appear on TV shows such as ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’, ‘Reaper’, and ‘Maron’.  She made a major splash in ‘Wonder Woman’, in which she stole every scene that she appeared on as Etta Candy.  In addition to ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, she will also appear in the upcoming series ‘Kick’.  There is almost no information about that series online, but it only consists of six episodes, so presumably it’s British and will be on one of the BBCs.

‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ also stars Kiernan Shipka, Abigail F. Cowen, Richard CoyleTati GabrielleRoss LynchMiranda Otto, Chance Perdomo, Bronson Pinchot, Adeline Rudolph, Jaz Sinclair and Lachlan Watson.

The first season of ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ will consist of 10 episodes and will be available to binge on October 27.
