Looks like Billy Burke will no longer by playing a co-starring role and has now landed the lead in NBC’s untitled J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke post-apocalyptic drama.

Déjà vu? In a sense, as it was only 3 weeks ago we reported that Burke landed a part as Bass, a charismatic Marine, for a pilot that was then called ‘Revolution.’ Deadline is now reporting that the pilot’s title will be changed (at the moment it has no title) and that Burke has been upgraded to the lead role of Miles, “an amazingly resourceful man with a dark and dangerous side.”

Filming on the project began last week without an actor to play the lead but over the weekend, the producers decided to have Burke play the part and have his role as the charismatic Marine recast.

If you haven’t been following the pilot casting news, this project, formally known as ‘Revolution, ‘ follows a group of people who are struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.

Besides Burke, Giancarlo Esposito, Graham Rogers, Tracy Spiridakos, Anna Lise Phillips, Zak Orth and Tim Guinee will all be starring in the pilot. Hopefully, if the network likes what they see, it will become a weekly one hour drama on NBC’s fall schedule.
