The official version of ‘The Avengers’ teaser won’t be released until Friday and for a short time you were able to see the teaser at tinypic.com, but it has since been removed. It was rumored that the teaser would be shown after the credits of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and was proven true at special screenings of the movie much to the delight of unsuspecting audience members. Just so you know, as soon as these leaked teasers are released, they are being asked to be taken down so don’t wait if you want to see the teaser now as I’m sure it will be removed soon as well! Although the quality of the video is low, you should be able to make out most of the images.
‘The Avengers’ is the ultimate movie crossover tying in such superheroes as Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and, of course, Captain America. If you have seen the movies (and stayed until after the credits), hints of ‘The Avengers’ were placed at the very end of each movie giving fans something to look forward to. At the end of ‘Iron Man’, for example, you see Nick Fury tell Tony Stark that he’s putting a team together. ‘Iron Man 2’ teased its fans with an Asgardian Hammer touching down on New Mexico, setting the stage for the movie ‘Thor’. In ‘Thor’, the post credits scene shows Loki going after the cosmic cube and now in ‘Captain America’ it becomes official…the superhero team of ‘The Avengers’ is formed!
Written and directed by Joss Whedon (‘Firefly’, ‘Dollhouse’, ‘Angel’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’), many of the actors who starred in the past Marvel Comics movies will be reprising their roles: Robert Downey, Jr (Ironman), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johanson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Chris Evans (Captain America). Joining this team of superheroes will be Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. The premise of the movie is that Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., needs to pull a team together when an unexpected enemy threatens the safety and security of the world. As a big fan of superhero movies, this teaser has me excited for the film! ‘The Avengers’ will be released in May 2012.
