Visual Effects guru Tim Miller, who’s well renowned for his work through Blur Studio, will be directing the movie ‘X-Men Origins: Deadpool,’ according to Deadline.
Mike Fleming reported that “In ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ Ryan Reynolds made his first appearance as Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, a smart-mouthed mercenary with terminal cancer who undergoes military experiments in an attempt to replicate Wolverine’s mutant healing factor. He comes away with the ability to heal quickly, but for the price of being indestructible he is rendered severely scarred. His acerbic attitude remains, though, earning him the nickname “The Merc with a Mouth.” Reynolds will next be seen starring as another superhero, ‘Green Lantern,’ for Warner Bros.
Apparently the script is still in the works, but it’s been confirmed that Rhett Rhese and Paul Wernick are in the process of writing. Lauren Shuler Donner is in charge of production.
Miller has done extensive visual effects work on a myriad of intense game trailers. This will be his first directing debut, and I don’t know about you, but I’m curious to see how he does.
If you’re a fan of the X-Men like I am, then hopefully you’ll catch this latest movie when it’s finally released. There’s been no word on when we can expect to see it in theaters, but I’m sure we’ll hear more as we head toward production.
