About Stuart Conover

Stuart Conover profile photo
Stuart Conover is a father, husband, blogger, published author, geek, entrepreneur, editor of Buy Zombie, horror fanatic, science fiction junkie, lives in a world of comics, and a casual gamer (all of this when his wife lets him of course.) He fell in love with science fiction and horror at the same time while watching the movie Alien at probably far too young of an age while still being extremely impressionable and has been happily obsessed with both since! Around the same time he had also developed an unhealthy addiction to comic books. While he was able to break free (at least from the comics) for 8 years he (like many addicts before him) has fallen back into the habit of reading them on a weekly basis. When not having too much on his plate for any healthy person he tries to skimp on sleep enough to get an eye straining amount of movies and television shows watched.
Favorites: Dune, Alien, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Falling Skies, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Stargate, The Walking Dead, and everything mainstream Marvel.
Location: Westmont, IL

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Astonishing X-Men’ #65

    Posted Sunday, August 18th, 2013 03:00 pm GMT -4

In this issue we close the arc on the ice age that Iceman has inflicted upon the Earth while powered up by The Apocalypse Seed. In the last issue we ended with the seed coming loose and being swallowed by Mystique, giving her the powers of Apocalypse. Interesting enough, the powers manifested within her more […]

  • Joseph Kosinski To Direct ‘Twilight Zone’

    Posted Sunday, August 18th, 2013 02:00 pm GMT -4

It’s been a long time since ‘The Twilight Zone’ has allowed us to travel through other dimensions of sight, sound, and mind. Now it looks as if the magically demented worlds are going to once again grace the screen. Last year there was word that Bryan Singer was planning on bringing it to the small screen, […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Uncanny X-Men’ #10

    Posted Saturday, August 17th, 2013 05:00 pm GMT -4

Okay, first up I need to warn you – there is a LOT going on in this issue. Not only is there a lot going on but there is potentially even more going on down the line from what happens in here. While ‘Uncanny X-Men’ #9 was my least favorite issue of the series so […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Wolverine And The X-Men’ #34

    Posted Saturday, August 17th, 2013 11:00 am GMT -4

The Hellfire Saga continues where it left off in ‘Wolverine And The X-Men’ #33 and as much as I enjoyed the character build up in the last issue, the action in this one completely trumped it. I almost want to retroactively lower last week’s grading to a 4. Not because it was bad but because […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Uncanny X-Force’ #10

    Posted Friday, August 16th, 2013 08:00 pm GMT -4

I’ve been going back and forth on how I feel about ‘Uncanny X-Force’ and the last issue left me feeling the same way. There still isn’t a real team and while they have a couple things to follow up with, the series hasn’t had a solid direction to run. I felt that this issue finally gave us […]

  • ‘Seventh Son’ Released Date Pushed Back Once Again

Recently the movie studios were shaken up a little bit when Legendary moved away from it’s long time partner Warner Brothers and set up shop with Universal. Once that happened, we haven’t heard much out of the company’s upcoming plans. Well it looks as if at least one movie that we care about has been […]

  • ‘Blake’s 7′ Is Getting A Modern Remake On X-Box Live

With Microsoft wanting the X-Box One to become THE Entertainment Hub of your living room, it wants to add original content to its lineup that you can only get there. It’s an idea that makes sense and clearly has been working for subscription services such as Netflix. So aside from its Steven Spielberg produced Halo […]

  • Apparently Stephenie Meyer Is So Over ‘Twilight’

    Posted Thursday, August 15th, 2013 03:00 pm GMT -4

Apparently Stephanie Meyer, the creator of the highest selling tween heart throb franchise to date (as well as elderly pedophile women) who wants nothing more than to set back empowered women 100′s of years, is “so over” her greatest creation. Recently she sat down with Variety and had this to say about ‘The Twilight Saga’: […]

  • ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ Finally Becoming a TV Series

    Posted Wednesday, August 14th, 2013 07:31 pm GMT -4

It’s been no secret that Robert Rodriguez (‘Sin City’, ‘Machete’) has wanted to turn his classic vampire film ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ into an ongoing TV series. His grind house rooted, pulp filled, vampire film long ago earned cult classic status and he’s wanted to have another go of it for quite some time. (We’ll […]

  • ‘Galaxy Quest’ Ranks Higher Than ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Among Trekkies

    Posted Wednesday, August 14th, 2013 01:00 pm GMT -4

I’m not going to lie, I’ve always felt that I was more of a ‘Star Trek’ fan over a ‘Star Wars’ fan. As much as I’ve felt that way though, the results of a recent ‘Star Trek’ fan favorite of films from best to worst has me thinking I’m not as die hard of a […]
