Stuart Conover is a father, husband, blogger, published author, geek, entrepreneur, editor of Buy Zombie, horror fanatic, science fiction junkie, lives in a world of comics, and a casual gamer (all of this when his wife lets him of course.) He fell in love with science fiction and horror at the same time while watching the movie Alien at probably far too young of an age while still being extremely impressionable and has been happily obsessed with both since! Around the same time he had also developed an unhealthy addiction to comic books. While he was able to break free (at least from the comics) for 8 years he (like many addicts before him) has fallen back into the habit of reading them on a weekly basis. When not having too much on his plate for any healthy person he tries to skimp on sleep enough to get an eye straining amount of movies and television shows watched.
Favorites: Dune, Alien, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Falling Skies, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Stargate, The Walking Dead, and everything mainstream Marvel.
Location: Westmont, IL

  • The ‘Revolution’ Is Coming And It Won’t Keep Us Guessing!

For me ‘Revolution’ is a guilty pleasure show. I want to hate it because they have the entire cast looking like they were freshly showered in a post-apocalyptic environment and there’s enough teen angst showing up to make anyone sick. However, I can’t help but watch every episode that comes out because the overall story […]

  • A ‘Sinister’ly Good Sequel Is On The Way!

When a horror film earns $87 million at the box office with a $3 million budget it should be no surprise to anyone that a sequel is in the works. In the case of films like ‘Paranormal Activity’ you can expect the quality to start heading downhill pretty quickly. ‘Sinister.’ though. caught horror lovers attentions […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘X-Treme X-Men’ #11

To date the X-Treme X-Men series has been very similar to the Exiles series. It’s a group of mutants that have been traveling between alternate realities and timelines with a common goal. Currently we have both Dazzler and Sage from the 616 Universe, an alternate version of Wolverine (who goes by James Howlett) and Hercules […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘FF’ #4

The FF series was the Future Foundation portion of the Fantastic Four prior to the relaunching of the Marvel titles. When Reed, Sue, Johnny, and The Thing went off on their little space adventure, they didn’t want to take the children of the Future Foundation with them. Since their travel was supposed to be partially […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Avenging Spider-Man’ #4

The Avenging Spider-Man is the new Marvel Mash-up franchise we all know and love. Who doesn’t enjoy seeing our favorite wise cracking web-slinger team up with people who either love, hate, or learn to respect him (or that he gets even more on their nerves)? It’s a fantastic concept but what happens in the world […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘X-Men Legacy’ #6

I won’t lie, I’ve been neglecting reviewing the re-launched X-Men Legacy series for the website. I was a huge fan of the plot line before it ended off but the focus on Legacy so far has been Legion. For those of you unfamiliar with the character, Legion is named David Charles Haller and is Charles […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Uncanny X-Men’ #2

The Uncanny X-Men is meant to be one of the stand out titles currently in the X Universe. In it’s pages we get to see the fallout of AVX and the team Cyclops has put together to start a mutant revolution. Of course that would be much easier if any of his team actually still […]

With Wolverine disbanding his little black ops squad of X-Force, there was room for a new one to be formed. While Cable might have formed his own to work with, there was a group of X-Men who were in charge of taking care of problems for the mutants on the whole. Storm was leading them […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Astonishing X-Men’ #59

Astonishing X-Men has recently been dealing with Warbird’s changing nature just prior to that the focus was on Northstar and Kyle’s marriage and what that meant for them. In Issue #59 we return to the marital issues that are plaguing the two but we also are introduced to a story arc that is going to […]

  • ‘Iron Man 3′ Pepper Potts Poster Has Been Released! (And More!)

Well folks it’s another day closer to ‘Iron Man 3‘s’ release and the character posters keep coming! This time we have the Pepper Potts poster (say that 10 times fast) and it shows a very solemn looking Gwyneth Paltrow holding an extremely damaged Iron Man helmet. There have been multiple rumors of new Iron Man […]

  • New Movie Image Has Carrie All Bloody

I’m not going to lie, when I heard they were remaking ‘Carrie‘ I’m sure I felt exactly how everyone else did – horrible. The thought of another horror movie remake is cringe worthy for most fans of the genre at this point. Hollywood just can’t seem to come up with much new that works and […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Morbius: The Living Vampire’ #2

Previously on the tales of Spider-Man, Morbius was imprisoned for losing control of his blood lust. When that happened he became at odds with everyone who he’d been able to build a relationship with over the years. Recently during Spidey’s battle with Doc Ock he was able to escape. Now he’s living on the streets […]

  • Book Review: ‘Last Days’

When I initially received Last Days by Adam Neville, I was completely skeptical from the book’s description. How could they pull off a book in a “Blair Witch Project” style setting? There’s no way it could plausibly be that interesting or really drag you into the story right? That’s what I felt but I’ll always […]

“With great power comes great opportunity.” That’s not quite how the saying went that brought Peter Parker to being such a role model to the super hero community, but it’s the advice that we read in the first issue of Alpha: Big Time. The problem here though is it’s not exactly Spider-Man giving him advice. […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Nova’ #1

With Marvel bringing in the cosmic level of characters back into the forefront to promote Guardians of the Galaxy, it was only a matter of time before we once again saw Nova grace the page. The problem though is that the last Nova, Richard Rider, is dead. Who is taking up the cause? How can […]
