Stuart Conover is a father, husband, blogger, published author, geek, entrepreneur, editor of Buy Zombie, horror fanatic, science fiction junkie, lives in a world of comics, and a casual gamer (all of this when his wife lets him of course.) He fell in love with science fiction and horror at the same time while watching the movie Alien at probably far too young of an age while still being extremely impressionable and has been happily obsessed with both since! Around the same time he had also developed an unhealthy addiction to comic books. While he was able to break free (at least from the comics) for 8 years he (like many addicts before him) has fallen back into the habit of reading them on a weekly basis. When not having too much on his plate for any healthy person he tries to skimp on sleep enough to get an eye straining amount of movies and television shows watched.
Favorites: Dune, Alien, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Falling Skies, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Stargate, The Walking Dead, and everything mainstream Marvel.
Location: Westmont, IL

  • Seth Green’s ‘Star Wars: Detours’ Has Been Shelved Indefinitely

It’s as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in horror and were suddenly silenced. Seth Green’s ‘Star Wars: Detours’ has been cancelled at least for now. I’ll let that sink in for a moment. A while back we heard that ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ was cancelled and ‘Star Wars: Detours’ was delayed. It was a slew […]

  • ABC Family Prepping Jamie Lee Curtis’ Return To Horror In ‘The Final Girls’

    Posted Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 09:00 pm GMT -4
    by

Legendary scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis (‘Halloween’) is returning to horror on ABC Family’s upcoming show ‘The Final Girls’. It’s been over 10 years since we’ve had a chance to see Curtis in a horror film. Not only will this mark Jamie’s return to horror, but her return to working with director Steve Miner (‘Lake Placid’) who has […]

  • From Game To Film, ‘Dante’s Inferno’ Is Coming With Fede Alvarez Directing

I don’t remember hearing a lot about the ‘Dante’s Inferno’ game but I do remember it being a ton of fun to play. Apparently someone over at Universal Pictures agrees with me as they going to be turning it into a film and brought Fede Alvarez (‘Evil Dead‘) on board to direct it. The game […]

  • Ron Howard Updates On The Delay Of ‘The Dark Tower’

    Posted Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 09:00 am GMT -4
    by

I have to take a deep breath before talking about Ron Howard’s (‘Cowboys & Aliens‘) most recent evasive comments on ‘The Dark Tower’. Last heard about the film, Warner Brothers, who had acquired the project after Universal pulled out, had passed on the project. ‘The Dark Tower’, much like its main characters, just can’t catch a break. […]

  • From ‘Mama’ To ‘Mummy’: Andres Muschietti To Direct Horror Reboot

    Posted Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 09:00 pm GMT -4
    by

Well it looks as if Andres Muschietti, the director of ‘Mama,’ is in talks to take up working on Universal’s ‘The Mummy.’ We’ve known for over a year now that Universal wants to reboot ‘The Mummy’ as it was a cash cow for the studio. With the continued success of zombie films such as ‘World […]

  • Stan Lee Mentions Marvel’s Phase 3 May Be Looking To Get A Little Inhuman

The man, the myth, the legend – Stan Lee is at it again. The Generalissmo is dropping potential huge Marvel movie bombs all over the place and this time mentioning who is probably next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “They are going to do the Black Panther. They are going to use Doctor Strange. They are […]

  • Is Arnold Schwarzenegger Set For The Villain In ‘Avatar 2′?

    by

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, it looks as if Arnold Schwarzenegger may be playing the main bad guy in the sequel to ‘Avatar’. While it hasn’t been confirmed at the moment that’s how things appear to be shaping up. While I was looking forward to the second installment of the film (I wasn’t floored by the […]

  • There’s More Scares To Come As ‘Insidious Chapter 3′ Gets A Greenlight

Yes ladies and gentlemen, ‘Insidious Chapter 3′ has been greenlit to turn the films into a trilogy. While a name hasn’t been officially given to the film yet, one would assume they follow the naming scheme of the sequel. If you had any doubt if there would be a third installment into the world of […]

  • Benicio Del Toro Talks ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Role

Benicio Del Toro (‘The Wolfman’) will be starring as The Collector in the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ as well as showing up in ‘Thor: The Dark World’. With all of this screen time. it almost sounds like it should be rather tiring. Just what does del Toro know about his character and how tiring […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Wolverine’ #9

It’s been no surprise that Wolverine would become killable this year. With the loss of his healing factor (hey this has happened before) we might finally see Logan die. It’d be one way to keep him from popping up in 20 books a time until they brought him back to life. We skipped the last […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘X-Men’ #5: Battle Of The Atom Chapter 3

We’re going to be taking a couple issue break from our usual run of X-Men and not continue where we left off in issue #4. Good thing they gave the first story arc a decent book end or there would be a lot of fans out for blood for an interrupted plot right now. Since […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Astonishing X-Men’ #67

After what I like to refer to as the “Age of Iceman’ that ended in issue #65 I was starting to feel sorry that we were going to see the end of the ‘Astonishing X-Men’. Of course that was until the story line that started taking place last issue and through this one. Now I […]

  • 2 New Images For ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

    Posted Friday, September 13th, 2013 02:17 pm GMT -4
    by

I was a huge fan of the first 2 seasons of ‘American Horror Story’ and am happy that we have two new images that showcase both Kathy Bates (‘Misery’) and Angela Bassett (‘Strange Days’) in their roles for the third of the series. While the two pictures don’t portray it, the new information we have shows that they will play bitter rivals. […]

  • First ‘RoboCop’ Poster Released Into The Wild – Your Move!

The new poster and tag line for RoboCop makes me wish it was 2014 already! When I first heard that they were rebooting RoboCop I did what everyone else does when they hear about a reboot. I cringed. As time moved on and casting has come out, my excitement has been rising. Now? We have a […]

  • Comic Review: ‘Uncanny X-Force’ #11

Things weren’t going well for the group who still isn’t a team in ‘Uncanny X-Force’ #10. The issue ended with Storm, Psylocke, and Puck all being captured. What gets worse is that The Revenant Queen took all three of them and brought demonic forms of each of them into our reality. Super powered villains are […]
