About Michelle Ealey

Michelle Ealey profile photo
I’ve been a geek since before I knew what the word meant. I was playing Atari before I was five, and television taught me how to read. From my father I got my love of science fiction and fantasy (the Holy Trinity in my house was Asimov, Herbert and Tolkien), and I learned how to appreciate good stories in any form from my mother. Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a teen. For the past ten years, I’ve been a science teacher.
Favorites: Books: 'Frankenstein,' 'The Lord of the Rings,' and anything by Octavia E. Butler. TV Shows: 'The X-Files,' all 'Star Trek,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' 'Fringe,' and 'Quantum Leap.' I have many more. I love TV. Films: 'Star Trek,' '2001: A Space Odyssey,' and 'Metropolis.' Video Games: 'The Legend of Zelda,' The 'Mass Effect' and 'Dragon Age' franchises, 'Bastion,' and 'Skyrim'. On Xbox, I'm Chelle1800; on Steam, I'm Chelle. In SWTOR, I'm Devlora, a Sith Sorcerer on the Mind Trick server.
Location: Minnesota

As 2011 comes to a close, I like to take a look back at the television shows that entertained me the most. There were many sci-fi/fantasy/horror shows to choose from, and because I do not have consistent access to British television, I limited my list to shows that aired on American channels. (Sorry fans of […]

[Spoiler Alert: Plot is discussed in this review] ‘Three Inches’ was originally a pilot, but Syfy decided to pick up ‘Alphas’ instead of this superhero drama starring Noah Reid and James Marsters. ‘Three Inches’ is about Walter Spackman, a 26-year-old who moved back home because of financial troubles. He has bounced around from job to […]

[Warning: Some plot points of the Sith Inquisitor storyline are discussed.] I have to confess that no MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) has ever convinced me to play for more than a month. I played ‘World of Warcraft’ a few years ago, and recently I tried DC Online Universe. The games are fine, but […]

  • ‘Three Inches’ Pilot Airs Tonight On Syfy

What is ‘Three Inches’? That is a very good question. Evidence leads me to conclude this is a pilot for a show Syfy did not pick up. The network might change its stance, but that is unlikely because ‘Three Inches’ has not been announced as a new show for Syfy, the show is not on […]

Many quality games came out this year in both sci-fi and fantasy genres, making 2011 a strong year for games. The process of selecting ten games for this list was daunting. To finalize this list, I focused on the games that stayed with me because of their stories, characters, or gameplay (and for some, all […]

At the Sanctuary, Will and Magnus discuss combining some of the smaller Sanctuary stations because the Sanctuary network is having financial […]
