About Brian Tudor

Brian Tudor profile photo
One of Brian’s earliest Sci-Fi memory is the Rancor from Jedi, even before that he could be seen running around the yard with an imaginary Luke Skywalker, stuffed Chewbacca in tow, fighting the dark side. Frank Herbert’s Dune further refined his Sci-Fi taste and the love affair was set in place. It was the discovery of comic books and superheroes that put him over the edge. After a brief hiatus from comics, Kevin Smith’s run on Green Arrow brought him back to the land of tights, flight, super speed and gadgets galore! Currently his home office is littered with action figures, posters, DVD’s and comic book, all threatening to overtake him at any time. After years as a DC Fanboy he is learning to love Marvel Comic's again, especially now that Greg Rucka is writing The Punisher.
Favorites: Farscape, Star Wars, Dune, Robin/Nightwing, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, BSG, Falling Skies, Thundercats, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Cyclops, Iceman, Nightcrawler
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

  • DC Comics The ‘New 52 #1′ FREE!

    Posted Thursday, July 21st, 2011 05:08 pm GMT -4

Other than a couple of preview pages from the all new ‘Justice League #1′ featuring Batman and Green Lantern, and a new look at Grant Morrison’s Action Comics’ ‘Superman,’ there isn’t anything new in this book that you can’t find on DC Comics’ blog The Source. I think the purpose of this book was to […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath #1′

    Posted Thursday, July 21st, 2011 09:00 am GMT -4

War of the ‘Green Lanterns Aftermath #1′ picks up immediately after the events of ‘Green Lantern #67′, as Hal Jordan is returned to Earth, sans ring. Poor, poor Hal Jordan stranded in the desert, no longer a somebody. I can’t imagine how much of an insufferable d-bag he will be without the ring. Of course, […]

  • ‘Falling Skies: Sanctuary Part 1′ – Recap

    Posted Monday, July 18th, 2011 11:00 am GMT -4

“Sanctuary Part 1″ is more about building on the themes of the show than any of the previous episodes so far. Themes like family, working together and over coming fears for the greater good. That being said, I don’t understand why the survivors of the apocalypse have to be so stupid and greedy. Sanctuary kicks […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Booster Gold #46 – Flashpoint’

    Posted Sunday, July 17th, 2011 04:00 pm GMT -4

When ‘Booster Gold’ came back to the past, he was seeking fortune and fame as hero for hire. Booster has gone from being a joke and a pariah to a time cop and true selfless hero. There was a time when he even took a punch from Doomsday, right before he beat Superman to death. […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Captain America #1′

    Posted Sunday, July 17th, 2011 10:00 am GMT -4

If I didn’t know better I’d think there was an all new ‘Captain America’ movie coming out soon. After being away from the shield for a while, Steve Rogers resumes the mantle of Captain America in this all new adventure and after spending most of the 2oth Century frozen in ice, the world needs Captain […]

  • Comic Book Review: X-Men Schism #1

    Posted Saturday, July 16th, 2011 03:00 pm GMT -4

There are only about 200 mutants left. The X-Men are more united than ever as mutant-kind has united under the leadership of Cyclops on the artificial island Utopia. Utopia is a community where mutants are able to live and master their powers in peace; a place to call home. In ‘Schism #1′, Cyclops and his most trusted […]

  • ‘Falling Skies’: Love and the Apocalypse

    Posted Friday, July 15th, 2011 02:00 pm GMT -4

In the Science Fiction, or Sci-Fi (definitely not SyFy), genre there is a popular theme for characters in the post apocalypse landscape of shows like ‘Battlestar Galactica’, ‘The Walking Dead’ and now even ‘Falling Skies’; love. In ‘BSG’, the newly appointed Madam President of the, now defunct, 12 Colonies said it best, “They better start […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘War of the Green Lanterns’ Conclusion

    Posted Thursday, July 14th, 2011 09:01 am GMT -4

The war is over. This issue is full of twists, turns and surprising ring selection choices. From the cover to the final panel of this book, there is only one word to describe it… EPIC. There wasn’t a lot of fall out from the previous chapters of the ‘War of the Green Lanterns’ (i.e. John […]

  • Comic Book Review: Batgirl #23

    Posted Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 09:12 pm GMT -4

This was a big week for comic books, and while the penultimate ‘Batgirl’ issue starring Stephanie Brown is not the most Earth-shattering book from my pull-list, it is the one I was the most interested in reading. After last month’s jaunt across the pond to jolly old England, where our favorite snarky heroine saved time and […]

Now the technology has gone viral, turning the entire population into murderous automatons, and it’s up to the psychotic Alpha and a small group of […]

  • ‘Falling Skies’ Silent Kill – Recap

    Posted Monday, July 11th, 2011 01:10 pm GMT -4

Wow! Hal Mason is a bad ass. First, to lay there all calm and steady, not wetting his pants as the Skitter laid its hand on his forehead during his undercover mission to save his brother Ben. Second, because he took down a Skitter with little more than a pocket knife and his wits. It […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Batman Knight of Vengeance’ #2 – Flashpoint Tie-in

    Posted Monday, July 11th, 2011 12:00 pm GMT -4

If you didn’t know Brian Azzarello could spin a yarn before reading Batman Knight of Vengeance, you do now. Issue 2 of this 3 part series blew issue 1 out of the water. While this is not my favorite of the Flashpoint tie-in series… it took a big leap in the standings after this issue. […]
