Battle At Big Rock

Last week, Colin Trevorrow stunned ‘Jurassic World’ fans with the revelation that they had shot a new short film titled ‘Battle at Big Rock’ in secret. This secret film was released over the weekend on FX. Now, the short can be found online and is going to have you extremely excited for the third film in the franchise. The story takes place between ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and the still-untitled ‘Jurassic World 3.’ At the end of the last film, the dinosaurs had escaped into the wild and now we’re going to be witnessing the repercussions to that happening.

The short 8-minute film stars André Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd, and Pierson Salvador. Trevorrow directed the feature and co-wrote it with Emily Carmichael.

The studio is describing the short film as below:

BATTLE AT BIG ROCK is an all-new short film directed by Colin Trevorrow, written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael. The short takes place one year after the events of the last Jurassic World film in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. The story follows a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival.

Of this short film, Trevorrow had shared that “It felt like a first step into a larger world after the last film. You have these animals loose in an unfamiliar environment, they’re disoriented, struggling to adapt. The first people they run into are bound to be camping. I wanted to see that.” You can not only see this playing on in the video above but see how it feels like a perfect homage to the original ‘Jurassic Park’ movies. I loved the inclusion of the new dinosaurs as well as how it played out for the humans at the very end of this one!
