Samuel L Jackson

With ‘Glass‘ coming out this weekend we’ve been learning a lot of random facts about the film and the trilogy. My most favorite tidbit, though, is how Samuel L. Jackson had randomly bumped into M. Night Shyamalan over the years and how he asked about a sequel to ‘Unbreakable‘ being put into production. Clearly, the actor enjoyed working on the film and felt that there was more story to tell.

This story feels very much how life must be for those who know Jackson as according to Shyamalan:

“I would just see [Samuel L. Jackson] randomly if I was in Los Angeles — and I don’t go to Los Angeles hardly at all. So one time I was driving on the studio lot and his car came, and he rolled down the window, and he’s like, ‘When are we making that sequel motherfucker?’ I was like, ‘Oh, I’m working on it. I’m working on it, man. I’m working on it, I got to drive, bye.’ And then literally, I think another year later I was at a red light in Los Angeles, and his car pulled up again next to me, and he goes, ‘When we making that sequel motherfucker?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m working on it, I’m almost there!’ And really I hadn’t worked on it at all. I was just trying to drive away. So when I finally did call them, they were super, super supportive.”

While Shyamalan seems to have luck randomly driving by Jackson, I suspect most fans of the actor wouldn’t have this much luck running into him. Of course, there is always the chance that Jackson spends his days driving around the city while not on set, so anything is possible!

Do you think Samuel L. Jackson was stalking M. Night Shyamalan to make a sequel to ‘Unbreakable’ or did this just end up being some strange luck? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
