Kevin Wendell Crumb Was Originally To Be Introduced In Unbreakable

Director M. Night Shyamalan has revealed that we were originally meant to meet Kevin Wendell Crumb much sooner. While ‘Split’ ended up being the perfect secretive sequel to ‘Unbreakable,‘ most of the story was set to be contained in the same movie where we met David Dunn. It took 17 years for the second part of this story to be released on the big screen and likely quite a few changes to the villain ended up happening over that time period.

The way we would have met Crumb would have been similar to how Dunn followed one of his co-workers home after having a feeling that they did something wrong:

“That was always the idea. Originally Unbreakable and Split were together. David and the Horde bump into each other at the train station, and David follows him.”

After all these years it won’t be until the upcoming release of ‘Glass‘ that finally pits David against Crumb’s darker persona. Hopefully this movie will resolve the struggle between Glass and David for good as Shyamalan has already declared that he has no interest in continuing on this franchise as this trilogy will be the full story.

Did you have any idea that the introduction of Kevin Wendell Crumb and pitting him against David Dunn was always M. Night Shyamalan’s plan? Do you feel that we’ll get a proper finale when the credits roll at the end of ‘Glass’? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Following the conclusion of ‘Split,’ ‘Glass’ finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

‘Glass’ will break into your local theaters on January 18th, 2019!
