Samuel L Jackson

With the release of ‘Captain Marvel‘ only a couple months out, there has been a slew of new details about the film pop up online recently. One fun little nugget from an interview with Samuel L Jackson may have just shared how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are able to end up preventing Thanos from snapping his fingers and causing The Decimation.

Most of the early shots that have pointed towards time travel have hinted at the idea that Scott Lang would use his access to the Quantum Realm to somehow head into the past. We’ve even heard that there were “Time Vortexes” as Janet Van Dyne had warned him to try and avoid them without really explaining what they were. However, new theories now have a great chance to blossom or might be useful in explaining how our heroes are able to use these to travel to the past.

There is a significant potential spoiler in the comments by Jackson below while talking about Carol Danvers:

“She’s pretty much the strongest character — in terms of someone with powers are able to do things — in the Marvel universe. So, for Carol Danvers to be that person and for Brie to become that person, it’s gonna be a dynamite thing. I mean, [the Avengers] are up against some really, really tough odds right now — we saw throughout Infinity War — so now we know that we need something that’s as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we’ll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she’s capable of. She’s one of the few people in the Marvel universe that can time travel, so…”

Not only can Captain Marvel stand head-to-head with The Mad Titan but instead of beating Thanos in a fight she might use this time travel ability to help re-write history. It isn’t clear what that will mean for the plot or if it will involve the Quantum Realm but it sounds like the two could go hand-in-hand here.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Captain Marvel’ will be flying Higher, Further, Faster onto the big screen on March 8th, 2019!
