In the upcoming live-action adaptation of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog,’ comedian Jim Carrey will portray the villain Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik. A photo has been released showcasing how Carrey could end up looking when he transforms into the character and it is…honestly a little frightening!

James Marsden will lead the film alongside Ben Schwartz providing the voice everyone’s favorite little blue coin gobbler. While there has been no official photo of Carrey yet, he has assured fans that his version of the character will be live-action and not CGI like Sonic.

A fan released his creation on Instagram, serving up his best guess about Carrey’s look. Check out the post below! Fair warning, it is nightmare inducing!

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ follows the story of a small-town sheriff, Tom Wachowski, and Sonic as they team up on a road trip to San Francisco in hopes to locate Sonic’s rings before the villainous Dr. Robotnik can get his hands on them!

‘Sonic’ is directed by Jeff Fowler and features a script written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, and Oren Uziel. In addition to Marsden, Carrey, and Schwartz, the film stars Tika Sumpter as Mrs. Wachowski, Lee Majdoub as Stone, Frank C. Turner as Crazy Carl. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk also star in undisclosed roles.

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ races into theaters on November 8, 2019.
