Bruce Campbell

Can you believe that Bruce Campbell (‘Evil Dead’) is set to host the rebooted version of ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not!’? That is one thing that we have to look forward to in 2019 when the master of B-Movie cinema returns to the small screen. Once Starz canceled ‘Ash vs. Evil Dead‘ and Campbell announced his retirement from his role as the character, it was only a matter of time before he decided on a new part to play. Now, instead of returning to acting we’ll see him hosting instead.

The news first came from the ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not!’ Twitter account followed quickly by Campbell confirming the casting.

From newspaper to radio to books to comics, ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not!’ has had a long and successful life as a franchise so far. This will be the fourth iteration of the television series as it originally debuted in 1949 when founder Robert Ripley was hosting the series. Sadly, he passed away before the end of the first season. The show would later resume with Oscar-winning actor Jack Palance hosting from 1982-1986 on ABC. TBS then brought the series back from 2000-2003 with Dean Cain hosting.

With the content of the series, this feels like the perfect show for Campbell to lay into his B-Movie charm to both entertain and educate audiences.
