New Featurette Shows Off Star Trek: Discovery Season Two's Impressive Visuals

A new featurette for ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ has been released, giving fans a closer look into the making of what was promised to be the best looking season of the ‘Trek’ franchise yet. The featurette also gives new plot details about the introduction of Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and young Spock (Ethan Peck).

In the featurette, ‘Discovery’ creator Alex Kurtzman explains that the next season will see a shift toward a more cinematic visual style. While the season promises some stellar visuals, rest assured that ‘Discovery’ will still feature the intimate character moments that viewers have grown to love. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) will meet Captain Pike who captained the Enterprise before Captain Kirk, and she will uncover the strange connections to her adoptive brother Spock.

After answering a distress signal from the U.S.S. Enterprise, season two of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ finds the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery joining forces with Captain Christopher Pike on a new mission to investigate seven mysterious red signals and the appearance of an unknown being called the Red Angel. While the crew must work together to unravel their meaning and origin, Michael Burnham is forced to face her past with the return of her estranged brother, Spock.
