It is common knowledge that director David F. Sandberg has been working on giving a stand-alone film with ‘Shazam!,’ but franchise fans shouldn’t worry about being completely left out. We’ve already known that ‘Justice League’ Easter Eggs will exist in the film from the first photo which was released of Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman, but that is only the icing on the cake. It appears that there will be quite a few that will be included in the movie!

This fun tidbit came up when a fan asked Zachary Levi on Twitter how connected Shazam would be to the other DC films which have been released so far:

Levi is one of those actors who are awesome enough to respond to fans with limited details and answered:

There were early hints that the character of Freddy Freeman would be extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the heroes of the DC films and one would suspect that while this will be the primary source of Easter Eggs. Chances are, many will be found in newspapers or televisions in the background of the film though it will be fun to see what shows up and where.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still, a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

‘Shazam!’ will be flying into your local theater on April 5th, 2019!
