Arrow

Fans of the ‘Arrowverse’ have had a lot to discuss ever since the mid-season finales of all of the series, especially in regards to the ‘Elseworlds‘ event which ended with the cliff-hanger of the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover premiering in the Fall of 2019. However, the individual shows still have their own stories to tell this season, and their own surprises to bring, including the flagship show ‘Arrow,’ which has fans particularly excited right now.

Due to a recent Instagram post (which has since been deleted) showing Sea Shimooka (who plays new character Emiko Queen on the series) with Colton Haynes, Andrea Sixtos, and Joseph David-Jones, who played Connor Hawke in the the ‘Star City 2046’ episode of ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ there are now rampant rumors that ‘Arrow’ is bringing back Connor Hawke this season. Which actually does make sense considering all of the flash forwards this year, and the fact that the Flashpoint event a few years back brought John Diggle Jr. (the actual name of Connor Hawke, as he is John Diggle’s son) into to main continuity of the series. Could this be the legacy of the Green Arrow in his home city? To have another pick up the mantle once Team Arrow is gone?

Of course, this would all tie into words that Stephen Amell had to say about Oliver Queen earlier this year when talking about Oliver’s legacy:

“The only thing that is left for him to do – and he doesn’t need to die to do this – is he needs to leave a legacy. Because we have all these other shows that exist. So whether Arrow continued on in the absence of Oliver Queen, or someone else took up the mantle of the Green Arrow… I think leaving a legacy is the last box left to tick for the character.”

We will just have to wait to find out what exactly the show plans on doing with these flash forwards this season, though showrunner Beth Schwartz did assure fans earlier this year that “This is not connected to Legends. This is our own future.” So whatever version of Connor we see next may be slightly different than what we saw in ‘Star City 2046.’ Do you have any theories on how Connor Hawke may fit into this year’s flash forwards? Do you like the idea of bringing the character back? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
