Rob Liefeld Shares His Thoughts On 'Once Upon A Deadpool'

Asking audiences to re-watch ‘Deadpool 2‘ as a PG-13 recut titled ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ might be a stretch to some and now the character’s creator Rob Liefeld is weighing in on the film. Liefeld had the opportunity to see an advanced screening of the movie that will pit Fred Savage against Wade Wilson in a verbal duel that will likely leave one of these two stars wounded, or at least their pride will be.

But what does the creator of the Merc with the Mouth feel about the movie asking audiences to spend their hard earned dollars on another viewing that has a few changes? He’s extremely excited for it you to check it out!

I can now confirm, the most formidable opponent that Deadpool has ever faced is none other than FRED SAVAGE!! Trust me when I tell you that Once Upon A Deadpool contains some of the very best, most vicious humor and unforgettable sequences of any Deadpool film to date. Sure, they could have just assembled a pg-13 airplane cut of the film but, no, Ryan cooked up one of the most daring and insane outings this series has seen. I had no idea what I would experience but when it was over I walked out with some of the very best, funniest and most outrageous moments. Hysterical! DONT LET ANYONE SPOIL THIS MOVIE FOR YOU as they will not come close to nailing the exchanges. I won’t even imitate it for my family as it will fall short! This is a huge swing over the fences! Inspiring! Fred Savage vs. Deadpool is a treat for the whole family. I’m taking the entire family back for multiple helpings. Every time I think that this entire live action Deadpool experience couldn’t get any better, it somehow improves upon the last one. Can’t wait to talk about this one more!! Two swords, way up!! ⚔️ ⚔️ #deadpool #xforce #cable #domino #marvel #robliefeld #fox #onceuponadeadpool

We’ve learned that there are 20-minutes of new footage in this outing and that the back and forth between Ryan Reynolds and Fred Savage will be worth the price of admission alone. Also, it likely will be a great measure as to how changing the series to be PG-13 oriented going forward could affect box office sales which could reflect how Marvel Studio ends up pushing the third installment once their buyout of Fox is finalized.

Has Rob Liefeld’s thoughts on ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ swayed your opinion on seeing the film on the big screen? Do you think that a PG-13 re-cut of the film with new footage will be just as fun as the original? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
