Praise Be To Deadpool In The Latest Once Upon A Deadpool Poster

20th Century Fox is cranking up the promotion for ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’, the PG-13 edit of ‘Deadpool 2’, designed to appeal to younger fans who weren’t allowed to see it in theaters the first time.  Considering that this is a re-release of a movie that is already available on home video, it needs all the hype it can get, especially when it is opening opposite another superhero movie, Sony’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.  But if it helps, $1 from every ‘Deadpool’ ticket sold goes to the Fudge Cancer charity.

Perhaps in keeping with the idea of kindness and giving, Fox has released another ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ poster, casting Ryan Reynolds‘ titular assassin in a lofty role.  Check it out below:

As you can see, Fred Savage is seen grinning while peering over Deadpool’s shoulder.  Savage didn’t appear in ‘Deadpool 2’ the first time around.  But as shown in the trailers, he plays a big part in ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’, in a parody framing sequence based on ‘The Princess Bride’.  It appears that Deadpool kidnaps him and straps him to a bed in order to read to him the abridged version of ‘Deadpool 2’ minus all the profanity and violence.

Savage also appeared in the previously released ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ poster:

There are roughly 20 minutes of new footage in ‘Once Upon a Deadpool’, which includes the Savage framing sequence.  It’s unclear if there is any new footage of the film proper.  There is also some question as to whether T.J. Miller’s Weasel will appear, due to his recent legal woes.

‘Deadpool 2’ also stars Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, as well as Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Brianna Hildebrand, Jack Kesy, Shioli Kutsuna, Eddie Marsan, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams and the voice of Stefan Kapicic.

‘Once Upon a Deadpool’ opens on December 14 for a limited time.  Its last day in theaters will be December 24.
