Elseworlds

While the Arrowverse ‘Elseworlds’ crossover promises loads of action, there will be some quieter moments.  ‘Supergirl’ star Melissa Benoist previously shared a picture of herself with Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent and newcomer Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.  It appears that at some point during the event, Kara will head to the Kent farm to visit her cousin and to meet his lady love.

Benoist described the filming of this rural sequence, saying:

“I felt like we should’ve been eating apple pie and waving American flags. It was such Americana, and there were pickup trucks and Lois Lane had a toolbox and was working on a car.  That iconic relationship of Lois and Clark, [Tyler and Elizabeth] have just totally embraced it.

“She is such a force to be reckoned with, and Elizabeth is perfect for it.  The way they’ve written her in this world, she’s a firebolt and really sassy and awesome. I think people will really respond to her.”

Here’s a glimpse of the upcoming episodes:

‘Supergirl’ co-showrunner Robert Rovner further discussed the pairing:

“When we were talking about the story we wanted to send Clark on in the crossover, we were talking about different elements and that’s when we started talking about Lois.  We’ve always wanted to bring Lois onto the show. She’s such a great character and we were just excited to be able to have her and she organically fits into the story we were telling in the crossover.”

As an added incentive, The CW is considering developing a ‘Superman’ series to star Hoechlin, and presumably, that would involve Tulloch’s Lois as well as Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor, a casting that was just announced.  Luthor, however, will not be in ‘Elseworlds’.  His debut comes sometimes in early 2019.

The ‘Elseworlds’ crossover begins on Sunday night, December 9, and continues on Monday, Dec. 10 and Tuesday, Dec. 11.  All episodes air at 8pm EST.
