Aquaman

Fandango has revealed a new behind-the-scenes video offering new glimpses of the making of Warner Brothers’ ‘Aquaman’, the studio’s major upcoming release for the winter.  The film’s director, James Wan, and the cast– Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole KidmanPatrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II— are on hand to offer their takes on the making of this epic, and to tease fans with what they can expect from the movie when it surfaces on December 21.  Also, while a huge chunk of the movie is obviously rendered in CGI, this video offers a look at how many practical effects were employed in its making.

The video was shared by Fandango via its Twitter account.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Momoa stars as Arthur Curry, half-human, half-Atlantean defender of both land and sea.  Kidman plays his mother, the Atlantean Queen, Atlanna, with Temuera Morrison as his human father, Tom Curry.  Amber Heard portrays Mera, the daughter of Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus of the rival undersea kingdom Xebel.  Patrick Wilson stars as Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and the ruler of Atlantis, who goes to war with Nereus and Xebel.  Willem Dafoe appears as Nuidis Vulko, Arthur’s mentor when he first arrives in Atlantis, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II portrays one of Aquaman’s most famous foes, Black Manta.

‘Aquaman’ will flood theaters on December 21.
