The fate of Letitia Wright‘s Shuri wasn’t clear at the end of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ as we never saw if she had gone the way of her brother when Thanos snapped his fingers, but we’ve it’s now been confirmed that the actress will be reprising her role in both ‘Avengers 4‘ and ‘Black Panther 2.’ While that doesn’t clarify if she survived the snap or was turned to dust, there have been plenty of hints that we’d see her in the upcoming film working with Tony Stark, so this isn’t all that surprising.
The news came with the announcement that the actress was cast with John Boyega for the upcoming science fiction film ‘Hold Back the Stars’ wherein the footnotes revealed that Wright “will reprise [her role as Shuri] in the Black Panther sequel and most recently wrapped the Avengers film coming next summer.”
Earlier this year the actress was asked if her character may ever evolve into being Black Panther as she did in the comics:
“If that’s meant to happen then why not? But my thing is: where we meet her now in the Marvel Universe, she’s young, she’s preparing, she’s just into technology, she’s creating, she’s just really fun and really focused on that. So, if that’s meant to happen, then cool, but at the moments, hey, man, Chadwick [Boseman] is killing as Black Panther! I’m happy to help out with the gadgets for now. If that’s meant to be, it’ll be, but he’s amazing as Black Panther.”
With how much fans enjoyed her inclusion in the film it seems unlikely that we wouldn’t have seen her return.
