Brie Larson

Brie Larson quickly took to Twitter to correct a tweet (which has since been deleted) stating that she signed a seven-movie deal with Marvel Studios.  In the beginning, Marvel signed its stars to 3+ picture deals, but with the various champions crossing over and appearing in each other’s solo movies, not to mention the all-star ‘Avengers’ movies, it does make sense that the studio would try and lock its stars down for more lengthy contracts, especially if these contracts ensure that these stars’ salaries won’t balloon after the success of their films.

Regardless of how many films that Larson is committed to, she already has two in the can, her solo introduction, ‘Captain Marvel,’ and ‘Avengers 4’.

We already know that Chris Evans has wrapped ‘Avengers 4’ and will not return for any additional Marvel movies.  But he is just the first of the old guard to depart.  Fans have been dreading the day when Robert Downey Jr. announces that he is hanging up Iron Man’s suit of armor for good.

It has been declared that Captain Marvel will step in to guide the Marvel Universe going forward, reflecting the character’s prominent role in the comic books.  Joining her are other relatively new additions, Chadwick Boseman‘s Black Panther, Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange, Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man, and Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly‘s Ant-Man and the Wasp.  We also know for certain that Scarlett Johansson‘s ‘Black Widow’ is getting a solo movie, possibly a prequel.  Following the success of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, directed by Taika Waititi, which overhauled the brand, going in a more comedic direction, it is widely believed that Waititi will be back to direct at least one more ‘Thor’ film.  That would mean that Chris Hemsworth is also locked in to appear in more films going forward.

Here is Larson’s tweet:

Notice that she simply wrote, “This is not true.”  Which simply means that she did not sign a seven-picture deal.  Is it possible that she signed on for MORE?

‘Captain Marvel’, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, stars Brie Larson, Ben Mendelsohn,
Gemma Chan, Clark Gregg, Djimon Hounsou, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Lashana Lynch,
and Lee Pace, and arrives in theaters on March 8, 2019.

‘Avengers 4’, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
