Life Finds A Way

It may not have taken 65 million years, but after twenty-five years of waiting it looks like fans of the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise are finally getting a number of statues to give the original film it’s due credit. Thanks to the teams at Iron Studios and Chronicle Collectibles, collectors will soon be able to add a number of new statues based on the Velociraptors of the first ‘Jurassic Park’ film, including one particularly iconic scene that moviegoers will never forget!

First up is a glorious new 1:10 scale statue recreating the memorable kitchen sequence that features two Velociraptors chasing down Lex and Tim! This statue gives us both Raptors, a kitchen counter, and a terrified look Tim Murphy in glorious detail! The statue as a whole is over 11″ tall with a 13″ diameter. It’s also going to set you back a hefty price of $399.99 if you want to bring this masterpiece home when it releases in the 3rd quarter of 2019.

If that price tag scares you off a bit, Iron Studios and Chronicle Collectibles will also be releasing three individual 1:10 scale Velociraptor statues next year at only $99.99! Two fo the three are single releases of the Raptors seen in the previously mentioned kitchen diorama, with one hunched over and another standing looking back behind itself. The third and final Raptor statue features a Raptor crouched to charge in an attack as seen at the climax of the film. These statues are expected to range in height from 6″ to 8″ and will be made of polystone. As these aren’t on a fancy kitchen display base, these will each come posed on a more generic base sporting the ‘Jurassic Park’ logo. These are all expected to release in the 3rd quarter of 2019 alongside the larger Kitchen statue.

Here With Us Among The Clouds

As if we don’t have enough reasons to love Hot Toys already, this week they announced yet another in their long-running line of 1:6th scale figures from the ‘Star Wars’ universe. The latest figure that collectors can look forward to is the all-new ‘Bespin’ Princess Leia Organa from ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’! Compared to most of the beautiful 1:6th scale figures that Hot Toys produces, this new Bespin Leia is a bit bare bones, including only some alternative hands and a figure display stand, but it’s worth noting that the figure also sports a brand new highly detailed headsculpt that perfectly captures the likeness of the late Carrie Fisher. Check the full release from Hot Toys below!

SW EP5 – 1/6th scale Princess Leia (Bespin) Collectible Figure

“You look absolutely beautiful. You truly belong here with us among the clouds.” – Lando Calrissian

In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, after The Empire attacked the Rebel base on Hoth, Han evacuated with Leia on the Millennium Falcon and escaped the Imperial’s pursuit through an asteroid field. They sought refuge with Lando Calrissian in Cloud City of Bespin but it turns to be a trap for their friend, the young Luke Skywalker…

Now Hot Toys is delighted to present the new 1/6th scale collectible figure of Princess Leia in the gown she wore in Cloud City as the latest Star Wars collectible for our fans!

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the appearance of Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. It features a newly developed head sculpt with the remarkable likeness and detailed hair sculpture, an elegant gown with remarkable embroidery patterns, a figure stand, and a Cloud City themed backdrop.
