Jodie Whittaker’s triumphant turn as the Doctor is just weeks away! Now, fans will have the chance to see it on the big screen! Fathom Events just announced that the season premiere of ‘Doctor Who’ will be shown in nearly 700 movie theaters on October 10 and 11.
The screenings of the first episode, titled ‘The Woman Who Fell to Earth,’ will also feature never-before-seen bonus content about the making of the show. Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt, gave a statement about the event, saying:
“We are thrilled to partner with BBC Studios to kick off the new season in cinemas with exclusive content that will not be available anywhere else. ‘Doctor Who’ is another example of Fathom’s continued commitment to bringing some of the biggest series on television to theaters nationwide.”
Sergei Kuharsky, Executive Vice President of Franchise and Digital Enterprises for BBC Studios – Americas added that Whittaker taking on the role of the Doctor should be celebrated:
“Jodie Whittaker’s arrival as the new Doctor is just such a momentous occasion and once again we invite new audiences and fans to come together to celebrate.”
Tickets for the ‘Doctor Who’ premiere screening event can be purchased at the Fathom Events website! I just hope they serve fish sticks and custard at the theatre!
