Supergirl

‘Supergirl’ is heading back to the small screen this October and The CW has finally shared the first trailer for the series. Not only does it show off a bit about what the Girl of Steel will be up against, but it has some great lines from Kara as well as she speaks with Amber Maines‘s character Nia Nal who is a new cub reporter at CatCo. The young actress is slated to become television’s first transgender superhero, Dreamer.

While giving this newcomer a pep talk, Kara shares that, “Fear. No matter how much we believe in ourselves, that never really goes away. I think, ‘I’m not afraid of anything,’ and then something chases me back down the rabbit hole. But once we catch ourselves, we have to jump right back out there.” This feels like something that will help to either inspire Nia to become Dreamer or possibly something a bit prophetic for what she’ll be up to in the upcoming season.

On top of that, we also have our first look at both Rhona Mitra‘s villainous Mercy Graves and Sam Witwer‘s Agent Liberty who has an anti-alien agenda.

Neither of these two are going to be too friendly with our hero.

Some of the casting changes this season can be seen here as both Jeremy Jordan’s Winn and Chris Wood’s Mon-El are absent from the trailer and won’t be included in this outing. While Winn is slated to return when Jordan’s ‘American Son’ gig finishes up on Broadway, there are no plans to see Mon-El show up again at this time.
