Transformers: Cyberverse

Fans of the original 1984 ‘Transformers’ series have a good reason to look forward to Cartoon Network’s ‘Transformers: Cyberverse’ as the series is visually inspired by the G1 designs! The show is going to be much like the upcoming live-action ‘Bumblebee‘ in the idea that our favorite hero ends up on Earth with damage that needs to be repaired. In this instance, his memory banks were damaged and the famed Autobot is trying to go through his past to see why he is on another planet.

According to Hasbro’s senior vice president for the Transformers franchise’s Tom Warner:

“When we were designing the look and feel of Transformers: Cyberverse, we were inspired by the classic clean appearance of the original G1-style. This was the design we initially fell in love with in the ‘80s, and it felt like the perfect fit for this new origin story.”

I’ll be honest, I haven’t had much interest in ‘Transformers’ cartoons in years, but this one has piqued my interest.

This will be the second ongoing animated ‘Transformers’ series to be airing as Discovery Family is already slated to bring us ‘Rescue Bots Academy.’ While I’m personally excited for ‘Transformers: Cyberverse,’ as the father of two younger kids I can guarantee you that ‘Rescue Bot Academy’ is likely the only one which I know that I’ll be checking out between the two.

Are you excited to check out ‘Transformers: Cyberverse’ on Cartoon Network? Does the style have you reliving the original series? What classic Autobots and Decepticons do you hope will end up on the show? Share your thoughts below!
