Matt Ryan Constantine

Matt Ryan will be a series regular when ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ returns in the fall, so fans will be able to get their fix of supernatural ne’re-do-well John Constantine, but if you want to relive his pre-CW solo adventures, you only have a little while longer to do so for free on The CW Seed.  CW Seed posted a video message from Ryan himself, urging fans to download the app and check out his former series ‘Constantine’ for free before it leaves for good on August 31st.

Like so many genre shows, ‘Constantine’ was cancelled due to its high production cost, against only mediocre ratings.  It only ran for one season on NBC from 2016-2017.  Stephen Amell, the star of The CW’s ‘Arrow’ offered to make a guest appearance to boost ratings, but that never happened, although The CW managed to work out another deal, following ‘Constantine”s cancellation.  While they didn’t save the show, they imported the character, John Constantine, over for an appearance during ‘Arrow”s fourth season.  This led to he returning for two episodes during the third season of ‘Legends of Tomorrow’.  Now, he’s back in a regular role.

Not only is Constantine boarding the Waverider for a full season, the main storyline will center on him, as he leads the team against magic run wild throughout the time stream.

Jes Macallan (Ava Sharpe) and Courtney Ford (Nora Darhk) have also been promoted to series regulars.  Remaining cast members also include Tala Ashe, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Nick Zano.  Ramona Young joins as a new character, Alaska Yu.

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will return with new episodes on Monday, October 22 at 9pm EST.
