Walking Dead

The first full-length trailer for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 9 has been released! The clip shows what life after the war between Rick and Negan will look like. This should come as a welcome change to the battle between the two groups that dominated two entire seasons.

AMC released an official trailer following the panels for both ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ at SDCC. Season 9 of the show will see the arrival of new showrunner Angela Kang, and she seems like she isn’t wasting any time mixing things up. The trailer opens with Rick talking to Negan, while he lounges inside his prison cell, as only Negan can. Rick’s wish moving forward is to bring the various groups together. Through, from the look of the trailer, that may be harder than he thought.

Hoping to undo the damage done by Negan during his reign with the Saviors, Rick has adopted a more benevolent leadership style with the hope of preventing violent disputes between various groups. Negan makes it clear that he thinks the strategy is doomed to fail.

Fans of the show will remember the announcement that Andrew Lincoln will be ending his time as Rick on the show after Season 9. The news of his departure was coupled with the reveal that Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) will see a major pay increase as he becomes the new leader of the long-running series. Lincoln addressed his fans about his exit during an appearance Friday at SDCC, saying:

“This will be my last season playing Rick Grimes.”

Lincoln, who became visibly emotional, added that the new season will feature two of his favorite episodes since the pilot. Check out the trailer below!
