Clark Gregg

While the season finale of Marvel’s ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ left Agent Coulson’s fate a mystery, we’ve just learned that Clark Gregg will continue on as the director. Well, the director of the Season 6 premiere episode that is. We’re all still hoping that they find a way to keep Coulson alive or bring him back from the brink of death one more time, but that will likely be something left as a mystery for some time to come.

Of course, if Jeff Ward’s Deke can survive an entire timeline collapsing on itself to become a series regular, we know that anything is possible!

Marvel shared the news of Gregg’s returning to the director’s chair with an Instagram post that showed the title of the Season 6 premiere and who is responsible for writing and directing it that you can see here:

Gregg had directed the Season 5 episode ‘Fun & Games,’, so it will be great to see him return for another outing. If this does prove to be his last episode on the series, at the very least, he’s going on in style with it being written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen! Hopefully, he won’t be directing his own death scene as well.

Chloe Bennet who plays Quake on the show joked around that:

“It’s amazing! He’s still the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s really exciting. He directed an episode last year, and he’s always been such a great leader off camera anyway, so it feels totally normal.”

Are you happy to see that Clark Gregg will be directing another episode of Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’? Do you think that Agent Coulson will recover and still be on the show? Will the studio have him direct his own death scene? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
