Deadly Class

We’ve been hoping to see more of Syfy’s upcoming ‘Deadly Class‘ and this trailer shows that it has been worth the wait! The series is being brought to us by The Russo Brothers (‘Avengers: Infinity War’) who are adapting Rick Remender’s cult classic release.

‘Deadly Class follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for
assassins. Maintaining his moral code while navigating a ruthless curriculum, vicious
social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal. Set against the
backdrop of the late 80s counterculture, ‘Deadly Class’ is a coming of age story, unlike
anything you’ve ever seen. Based on the smash hit comic series of the same name
by Rick Remender.

While we’ve been getting details on the show over the past few months, this trailer will dive into the deep end of Benjamin Wadsworth’s character Marcus Lopez.

The trailer doesn’t just focus on Lopez but also gives us a few of the supporting cast such as Lana Condor’s Saya Kuroki and Benedict Wong’s Master Lin.

The source material has quite a bit of darker moments that when I first heard about the project, I hoped it would be on a network such as HBO or a streaming service like Netflix. While that didn’t end up being the case, this trailer has me interested in checking out the show.

The only thing that likely will give fans pause is that while it looks good, the series is being aired on Syfy, the network that has been criticized in recent years for how often they’ve canceled shows. Hopefully, if this series is as good as the trailer, it will make the cut for followup seasons.
