Blade Runner

Ridley Scott‘s 1982 ‘Blade Runner’ has inspired countless pieces of work and now we’re going to see a comic book inspired by this world released in a partnership between Alcon Media Group and Titan Publishing. Alcon worked with Sony Pictures to produce ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ and Titan Comics is no stranger to creating television and cinematic tie-in comics. In fact, they’re behind many ‘Doctor Who’ comics and novels that are set in both the Marvel and DC universes.

Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove joined together with Titan’s co-founders, Nick Landau and Vivian Cheung to bring these new books. This shared partnership will involve releasing both fiction and non-fiction in print media and produce comics and graphic novels that will show more of the ‘Blade Runner’ world and will become canon in the franchise.

Kosove and Johnson shared that:

“In partnering with the exceptional Titan Comics and Titan Books, we’re confident that the world of Blade Runner will continue to organically grow in a way that refuses to sacrifice the quality, tone and high standards of this beloved property.”

On Titan’s side of the aisle, Nick Landau and Vivian Cheung added in:

“We are extremely excited to be publishing Blade Runner comics and illustrated books. The Blade Runner universe has barely been explored; there is so much more there. It’s an honour to be bringing this world to life in new ways for a new audience – and to reveal tales from that universe that you’ve never seen before.”

This is another feather in Titan’s cap, and we’ll keep you updated with more details on any comics and books when we see them announced.

Are you excited for new comics and possibly novels which will be canon to the world of ‘Blade Runner’? Which areas do you hope that these new books explore which haven’t been covered in the films? Share your thoughts below!
