Shazam

Now that we’ve gotten our first look at ‘Shazam!‘ in costume everyone has been wondering when a trailer would drop and it looks to be soon! We’ve just learned from cinematographer Maxime Alexandre that not only is the first trailer is coming but that it’ll drop during San Diego Comic-Con 2018! Specifically, it is due to be released during the panel for DC Films, and we all know that means the company will likely release it shortly after to prevent any leaks from happening.

With the first image out and SDCC right around the corner, the general assumption is that would be the trailer release date, and now we have confirmation from someone working on the film if not the studio itself.

The details were shared on Alexandre’s Instagram with a still from the film which has now been removed. With this also being the debut of the ‘Aquaman’ trailer you almost have to wonder if we’ll only be getting a teaser here. Either way, it is a huge win for fans who are looking forward to seeing more of ‘Shazam!’

With the movie set to adapt the New 52 story arc though “He’s not a huge dickhead” like he was in this set of comics according to director David F. Sandberg. This means we should be seeing more of Billy Batson’s foster family as well as the Seven Deadly Sins. Of course, much of this is just conjecture as to which specific story elements will make it onto the big screen at this point.

Can you wait for the first trailer of ‘Shazam!’ to be released? Do you feel that Maxime Alexandre may have jumped the gun a bit on this announcement? Share your thoughts below!

‘Shazam!’ will appear in your local theater on April 5th, 2019!
