WBTV has debuted the first look at Brenton Thwaites as Robin in ‘Titans,’ DC’s live-action Teen Titans series for their streaming service, and he looks good!

Warner Bros has been very successful with their team up with DC when it comes to television. Coming off the successful ‘Crisis on Earth-X’ four way crossover of their co-produced CW shows seem to prove that when it comes to small screen properties, Warner Bros seems to know what they’re doing. And now they’re heading to the realm of streaming with ‘Titans’ and from the looks of Thwaites’ suit, they aren’t holding back!

The suit was designed by Laura Jean Shannon who’s no stranger to DC superheroes as she also worked on the suit of the newest superhero to hit the CW ‘Black Lightning.’ Additional credits include working on ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,’ Hulu’s ‘Future Man,’ ‘’Scott Pilgrim vs The World’ and ‘Blade Trinity,’ just to name a few.

Thwaites’ Robin suit itself is extremely similar to what is seen worn by the third Robin in the comics, Tim Drake, based on the “R” on his chest. What the image also seems to confirm is that prior to fully taking on the mantle of Nightwing, the Dick Grayson in ‘Titans’ will start off donning the Robin mantle. How long he’ll remain as Robin in the series is unknown but it is nice to see that the transition will be part of the storyline.

As to what more can be expected from the series is unknown, but here is the show’s synopsis:

“Titans is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.”

The official premiere date for ‘Titans’ has not been given but expect the series to hit the new DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service sometime in 2018!
