Hot Toys Brings The MCU To SDCC
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently celebrating its 10th Anniversary victory lap with a decade of straight blockbuster hits! With San Diego Comic-Con coming up, Hot Toys has decided to bring some truly unique items to the table as exclusives with two new MCU figures that are unlike anything we’ve seen before! They’ve got the former King of Wakanda and father of T’Challa, T’Chaka The Black Panther! Plus we’ve got our first MCU Concept Art figure with the new Concept Art Captain America based on some designs from ‘Captain America: Civil War’! Black Panther – 1/6th scale T’Chaka Collectible Figure
“You’re a good man with a good heart. And it’s hard for a good man to be king.” – T’Chaka Marvel Studios’s highly anticipated blockbuster, Black Panther has smashed the box office records globally this year. T’Chaka, the former leader of the Kingdom of Wakanda has gained great respect by serving the technological advanced nation and protecting his people. Marvel Studios:The First 10 Years-1:6 Captain America Concept Art
For over a decade Hot Toys had created almost 200 astonishing collectibles based on Marvel Cinematic Universe! It’s an amazing journey for Hot Toys to be part of Marvel Studios’ first ten years, and Hot Toys’ dedicated team will continue to create the highly movie accurate and fine detailed collectibles based on fans favorite movie titles! Today, Hot Toys is excited to unveil its first Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years 1/6th scale collectible figure, based on Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development, Ryan Meinderding’s concept art of Captain America from Captain America: Civil War.
Ryan Meinerding, who has been with Marvel Studios since the early days of Iron Man, helps to design the look and feel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was the visual development supervisor and the suit developer in Captain America: The First Avenger and has done the concept design for all of Captain America’s suits. Hot Toys has specially recreated one of Ryan’s incredible variant cover for Captain America cinematic visual design work from Captain America: Civil War, to a highly-accurate collectible figure. With a captivating monochromatic suit that brings out the hidden details, textures, and shapes, the latest 1/6th scale Captain America (Concept Art Version) collectible figure in tribute to the amazing artist Ryan Meinerding is a Toy Fair Exclusive item only available in selected markets!

Get ready for the Funko Forecast! This is where we’re going to be showcasing all of the cool new announcements and reveals from Funko! With all of the awesome that consistently seems to be flowing out of those guys, it shouldn’t be hard to keep this section alive each and every week!
It’s Morphin Time!
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ franchise, so what better way is there to celebrate than with a ton of awesome new collectibles from our friends at Funko? As always Funko loves to celebrate in style so they’re bringing a solid variety of new POP! Vinyls and a few other items to collectors later this summer! For the POP! Vinyls line, fans can look forward to the villainous Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, and Goldar joining the line! There will also be new ‘Unmasked’ versions of the original Power Rangers team including Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Zack, and Tommy!
Outside of the wide release POP! Vinyls, there will be a number of special exclusives! For starters, fans can pick up a special POP! vinyl 2-Pack of Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa at Books A Million stores. At Gamestop fans will be able to track down the villains Pudgy Pig and Pumpkin Rapper, while fans who go to Hot Topic can snag a 6″ Super Sized POP! of the White Tigerzord! There will be an Entertainment Earth exclusive 6″ Super Sized POP! ‘Glow In The Dark Megazord’ (which is up for pre-order now) and a special Black and Gold version of the 6″ Super Sized POP! Megazord as an exclusive at this year’s Power Morphicon.
Finally, this fall we can look forward to a Target exclusive 10″ Super Sized POP! of the Ultrazord (which is literally Megazord, Dragonzord, and Titanus combined into one literally ‘Ultra’ Zord; hence the name)! There will also be a new Funko Hero World 2-Pack of Goldar and Lord Zedd hitting Target stores (which is where the entire Funko Hero World line is currently exclusive to).
All of these awesome new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Funko collectibles and POP! Vinyls are expected to release in late August or early September
“This Is Why You’re Extinct!”
In a surprise move, Funko and Target have popped up with another all new exclusive ‘Jurassic Park’ POP! Vinyl figure! The latest figure to join the ‘Jurassic Park’ line of POP! Vinyls is a special Red Dilophosaurus! This new Red Dilophosaurus is already available for order now on Target’s website, but is only actually available to Target shoppers who have a Target Red Card! It looks like this one won’t ever be physically available in stores, and is an online exclusive so that only Red Card holders are able to order it. It seems like they’re trying to make you jump through a ton of hoops to grab a simple repaint figure, but as most completists will tell you, it’s a ‘must have’ for sure!
