NECA Brings The Terror With New Horror Figures

Once again we bring you good tidings of terror from our friends at NECA who have a few tidbits of horror collectibles news for you this week! We’ve got info on a new special edition figure that is exclusive to a special Steelbook Bluray release, news of a new figure hitting shelves, and a better look at a figure who is at the top of our wishlists!

First up is news of an all-new special release of a fan favorite horror classic, ‘Night Of The Demons’! We don’t cover many movie releases here at Toy News Tuesday, but this new Scream Factory Steelbook Special Edition Bluray of ‘Night Of The Demons’ has got our attention thanks to their partnering with NECA to add something truly unique to the release; an exclusive 8″ retro figure of Demon Angela! This figure is exclusive to this Steelbook Bluray release of ‘Night Of The Demons’ from Scream Factory, and only a limited run of around 2000 pieces are being produced, meaning this is one you’ll want to pre-order before it’s too late! This collectors’ set is due out in late October.

If you can’t wait that long for your new horror figure fix from NECA, they’ve got their all-new 8″ retro-styled Herbert West figure from cult classic ‘The Re-Animator’ hitting stores this week! Herbert is fully articulated with real-clothe clothes and a number of films specific accessories including Rufus The Cat, a bottle of Reagent, and even a severed head! Check out the release info from NECA below.

Herbert West has a good head on his shoulders… and another one on his desk… From Re-Animator, the movie based on HP Lovecraft’s classic tale of terror, NECA presents the mad scientist Herbert West in action figure form! The 1985 movie has achieved cult status for its dark and hilarious mix of science fiction, horror and comedy, and starred Jeffrey Combs as a medical student who will stop at nothing to perfect his reanimation serum.

As a clothed action figure, Herbert stands 8” tall and is dressed in his lab coat. He comes with a bottle of reanimation reagent, syringe, bloody shovel, Rufus the cat, and a tray containing the severed head of the last guy who tried to steal his invention. Resealable clamshell packaging.

This week we also got a better look at a new figure that is hitting stores this August with The Pale Man from ‘Pans Labyrinth’. This figure is a part of the new ‘Guillermo Del Toro Signature Series’ line of figures based on the film’s of the iconic director. The Pale Man is the first figure from ‘Pans Labyrinth’ to hit the market, with The Fawn planned to hit later in the year as well. The Pale Man is fully articulated and includes his Underworld Throne. Check out the release info from NECA below!

The second release in NECA’s new collaboration with renowned director Guillermo del Toro! The Guillermo del Toro Signature Collection brings select characters from del Toro’s movies to life in premium action figure format with deluxe added elements.

From the dark fantasy film Pan’s Labyrinth, the grotesque Pale Man is super-poseable and comes with a detailed Underworld Throne. Collectible deluxe window boxed packaging.

“Don’t Get Cheap On Me Dodgson”

The ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise turns twenty-five this year and fans have been celebrating this beloved franchise in style with a bevy of new merchandise and collectibles hitting the market to both celebrate this quarter century anniversary and the release of the latest film in the series, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’. The team at Chronicle Collectibles has been one of the biggest purveyors of ‘Jurassic’ products, bringing fans the high quality collectibles we have been begging for after what feels like 65-million years. This week Chronicle revealed their latest ‘Jurassic’ collectible to the team at io9 in the form of a prop replica of the Cryogenic Barbasol Can from the first ‘Jurassic Park’ film!

In the film, the Cryogenic Barbasol Can is used to smuggle frozen dinosaur embryos off the island (*spoiler alert* this plan fails!) This prop replica doesn’t actually freeze anything or even spray any shaving cream, but it does open up to reveal a number of ‘frozen’ dinosaur embryos contained within! The ‘Jurassic Park’ Cryogenic Barbasol Can from Chronicle Collectibles will be up for pre-order sometime later this summer with an expected price point of $200. There is currently no info as to when we can actually expect this to hit the market, but we’re sure it’ll be released before the fanbase’s desires for it go extinct!
