Very little is known about the upcoming second season of Fox’s ‘X-Men’ series ‘The Gifted.’ Anxious fans are hoping that a trailer will drop at SDCC, and in the meantime, Fox has revealed five new character posters and the show’s premiere date!

It is assumed that Season 2 will feature the characters dealing with the fallout of the Season 1 finale and the ever-growing divide between the members of the Mutant Underground. Fans don’t have to wait too long to find out more as the series returns September 25 on Fox.

The network has released some super stylized character posters highlighting the main characters. Check out all of the new posters below!

Polaris & Eclipse

Emma Dumont and Sean Teale’s characters were last seen when Polaris used her powers to bring down a plane, killing the passengers and joining the Stepford Cuckoos to leave her significant other behind.

 

The Strucker Kids


Andy and Lauren Strucker came across as ordinary mutants early in the first season, but fans quickly learned about the Strucker family history and The Fenris Twins. Andy is currently with Polaris and The Hellfire Club.

 

Reed & Caitlin

The heads of the Strucker family have grown closer despite their hardships, as they adapted to their new status as fugitives.

 

Blink & Thunderbird

Though she began as a more reluctant member of the Mutant Underground, Blink embraced her role after tragedy struck close to home and she even started a romantic relationship with Thunderbird toward the end of Season 1.

 

The Stepford Cuckoos & Jace Turner

Skyler Samuels’ role as The Stepford Cuckoos’ Esme, Sophie and Phoebe played an integral part of Season 1, introducing the Hellfire Club and alluding to popular characters like Emma Frost and Magneto.

The 20th Century Fox Television/Marvel series picks up after the explosion of the Atlanta Station. The Mutant Underground search for their friends and family who left with The Inner Circle. Having tracked them outside of Washington, D.C., they must contend with new groups with extreme ideologies, both human and mutant alike, to stave off a brewing conflict.
