Ant-Man And The Wasp

We’ve known for awhile now that Ghost will appear in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp‘ and now we’ve learned that her powers will be the same as her comic book counterpart. Yes, the gender has been swapped for the movie, but we don’t really know much about the comic character beyond claims that he had been an executive of a corporation which destroyed his life and now works to destroy corporations that harm others.

As to how the powers and look translated from the comics, executive producer Stephen Broussard shared that:

“The power set is the same, and the look is actually pretty classic, you know, not reinterpretation, but like modernization, I think. Our visual design team…does a great job I think of sticking to the classic tropes that made these — what they looked like in the books. Actually going ‘Huh, that’s a pretty good realization of what that might look like in the real world’ and certainly that’s the case with Ghost. When you think of Ghost, you think of the hood. You think of the white suit and everything like that and Hannah wears it very well. She’s awesome. She’s really, really badass.”

It should be interesting to see if Ghost’s technology well is based on Pym’s research or the Quantum Realm as it feels like they’d almost have to be tied together with such a strong focus on saving Janet van Dyne.

While the Ghost is usually one of Iron Man’s foes in the comics, as he has a personal vendetta against Tony Stark, it looks like Pym is going to be on the receiving end of that hatred this time around. It isn’t clear if the cinematic Ghost has a personal beef with Pym or was hired to sabotage or steal from the company.

We’ll find out soon!
