'Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur' Is Coming To Disney

Thankfully Marvel isn’t letting the failure of ‘The Inhumans‘ slow it down as Disney has just announced that there is an animated ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’ series in the works! One of the most creative characters in the past few years is getting her own show though it isn’t clear which Disney channel it will be on quite yet.

Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland are currently set to executive produce on the series. The two have a long working relationship having previously worked on ‘Black-ish,’ ‘Grown-ish,’ The Snowy Day,’ ‘Five Fingers,’ ‘Akeelah and the Bee,’ ‘Once in the Life,’ and ‘Hoodlum’ together. This is a working relationship that is over 20 years old and has proven that it can deliver a solid show!

Marvel Animation and Cinema Gypsy Productions are set to produce while Titmouse, Inc is handling both visual development and animation production.

The comic itself follows Lunella Lafayette who is a super-genius African-American girl who has discovered she is an Inhuman. She is one of the smartest people on the planet at nearly a Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four level who has decided she is going to prevent herself from ending up going through terrigenesis. That ends up failing but through the antics of time travel her power ends up allowing her to switch bodies with Devil Dinosaur which enables all kinds of shenanigans to occur.

The two end up becoming friends and go on all kinds of ridiculous adventures. We’ll see if they end up going the same route on the new cartoon though I suspect this animated series will at least somewhat follow the original story arc.
