avengers: infinity war

If you happened to be watching the new Disney movie ‘Zombies’ this weekend, you might have been pleasantly surprised to see a special inside look at ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ that Disney released along with their new movie, getting some cross-promotion in to build the hype toward the epic culmination of 10 years of filmmaking in the MCU.

The special starts with a short intro by Tom Holland (aka the MCU’s Spider-Man) and then goes into a cut-down version of the main ‘Infinity Wars’ trailer that we have already seen, though it is spliced together with some footage from the Superbowl TV spot. Next up we see A LOT of actors from the MCU talk about 10 years of filmmaking, and a contest for Marvel fans to get a chance to win a trip inside Marvel Studios for a tour, and/or a tour of the set of the upcoming film ‘Captain Marvel.’

They also leaned heavily on the topic of the 10th anniversary of Marvel Studios and the MCU, even unveiling a new Marvel Studios logo with a “10” in place of the “I” and the “O” in “Studios,” reminding us that they have worked long and hard to get to ‘Infinity War,’ and are grateful for the fans that have stuck with them over the course of the decade. They even show a “class photo” day at the studio where just about every actor who was ever in an MCU film was invited to come together for a photo, with Robert Downey Jr. right smack in the middle (of course, though in his defense, he did state that any one of those actors could have taken the center spot), and with many of the newer generation of actors geeking out at some of the talent from the older MCU films that came out for the picture.

In the end, the “Special Look” is a bit self-congratulatory, but hey, when compared to the other studios and their comic-book films thus far, Marvel has a lot to celebrate, and deserves a bit of a show as they approach ‘Infinity Wars.’ Check out the special look for yourself below, and feel free to share your thoughts on 10 years of the MCU in the comments section!
