Snowpiercer

Sad news for everyone looking forward to the upcoming adaptation of ‘Snowpiercer’ on TNT as the series has just lost Josh Friedman (‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’,’Emerald City’) as showrunner. Friedman was not only an executive producer for the series but penned the pilot and was on board for most of the development process. The pilot was shot last year, and the network quickly picked up the show as an ongoing series, but it looks as if Friedman will no longer be involved. While it is unclear as to the exact reason that he is departing, a source is being cited who says that creative differences are to blame.

The series is still going to be happening at the network, and with much of the pre-production already planned out, this shouldn’t be too much of an immediate hiccup.

‘Snowpiercer’ continues the tale seen in the 2014 film by Bong Joon Ho and possibly take parts from the graphic novel as well. The series will follow inhabitants of a train which perpetually moves around the globe to keep from freezing in place. The world has suffered a new ice age, and from what we know all of humanity outside of those who live on this super train is no more. Initially set to be the last stand for the super rich, the train also has a slew of those who made it on board out of pure luck and live in squalor at the back of the train.

All of this is about to change though as the series kicks off.

In the show, we’ll see Jennifer Connelly in a leading role with a staff that includes Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh, Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness, Alison Wright, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, and Lena Hall.
