Despite whatever is going on for the standalone ‘Batman’ film and the disappointing returns for ‘Justice League,’ other DCEU films are still moving forward thankfully, including ‘Shazam,’ which still looks to be one of the more interesting superhero movies to come out from DC comics. Now, thanks to ‘That Hashtag Show,’ we have several character breakdowns for characters from the movie that had not been 100% confirmed before, letting us know that Billy will indeed be working with and fighting against a number of his supporting cast from the comics. Most importantly, it seems the main villain will be his arch nemesis from the comics, Doctor Sivana, though it is pointed out that in the comics the man is more of a scientist and the character breakdown leads us to believe he will be more of a sorcerer in the movie.
Here’s the character breakdown for the main villain, Doctor Sivana:
THADDEUS BODOG SIVANA – “Evil sorcerer who regenerates from death with world domination on his mind.” Supporting Lead Male
And the breakdowns for his children, Beautia and Magnificus, who in the comics become allies of our hero, though the movie could go either way:
BEAUTIA SIVANA – “Sivana’s devoted daughter. When he does not return her love, she changes loyalties and helps Billy out.” Supporting Lead Female
MAGNIFICUS SIVANA – “Sivana’s incredibly giant and strong son that has a huge battle with Shazam.” Supporting Lead Male.
Below is the character breakdown for the Wizard Shazam who gives Billy his powers in the comics:
SHAZAM – “Elderly wizard who is forced to give his powers to a young boy before the boy is ready.” Supporting Lead Male
And the final breakdown below, which some believe is a vague on purpose, as it is a cover for Black Adam’s role in the film:
MYSTERIOUS MAN – “Shazam’s underling.” Cameo Male
While it was previously stated that Black Adam (played by Dwayne Johnson) would NOT be in the movie, new rumors and the change of regime with Walter Hamada becoming the new president of DC-Based film production could mean a new plan for the Black Adam character. Since so many fans were hoping to see him in the ‘Shazam’ movie, there’s a good chance he might just make a cameo after all.
