The Witcher‘ is over the top in violence and a bit of sex so one might worry how a televised adaptation could end up. Thankfully, the show is on Netflix so that alone would alleviate some concerns but now showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has weighed in on the story.

When a fan shared concern as to what the show might look like she was quick to respond that “There will be no watering down. I give you my word.”

It seems pre-production is moving full steam ahead right now as well:

This is something that we’re all looking forward to. Hissrich has been very open at communicating with the fans and taking all views in stride. When one fan wasn’t thrilled with one of her responses she calmly replied:

‘The Witcher’ is about a group of monster slayers who have use rituals, magic, and work at staying in peak performance to fight against monsters. They have a slew of bonus abilities such as being able to see in the dark and stronger and quicker than a standard man or woman.

We don’t really know much about which direction the Netflix series is going right now or which characters might show up from the novels though fans are hoping for an appearance by Geralt who is the most known due to his inclusion in the video games.
