Following the reveal of Brenton Thwaites as Robin in the upcoming ‘Titans’ series two weeks ago, DC Entertainment has released a first look at stars Alan Ritchson (‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’) and Minka Kelly (‘Friday Night Lights’) as superhero duo Hawk and Dove. The new Warner Bros. TV series will premiere in 2018 as part of DC’s direct-to-consumer digital service.
‘Titans’ will also star Anna Diop (‘24: Legacy’) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Brenton Thwaites (‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (‘Home and Away’) as Raven, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.
Renowned costume designer Laura Jean Shannon, whose credits include ‘Black Lightning,’ ‘Iron Man’ and ‘The Jungle Book, among others, designed the super suits for heroes Hawk and Dove.
The new ‘Titans’ series comes from executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Here is an official synopsis:
In the action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Fans can expect Titans to be a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.
Hawk and Dove will be recurring roles in the series with the potential to become regulars in Season 2, with the possibility of a Hawk and Dove spinoff later on. Hawk and Dove were first introduced in 1968 as Hank and Don Hall, but in the late 1980s, Don was killed off. Dawn Granger was introduced as the new Dove. The two could summon their powers from the Lords of Order and the Lords of Chaos by saying their names. Hawk has super strength, speed and stamina and Dove has magical and tactical abilities.
